Work Culture Preferences

Reflect on results.

How can knowing your ideal work culture help you in developing strategic and operational plans to achieve organizational goals?

Which compentencies are essential to conducting a strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) analysis?

How do your compentencies relate to the essential constencies for conducting a SWOT analysis?

 

My work culture results, in reflection, consisted of high powered occupations. Jobs that have high salaries, likilihood of rapid promotion, the chance to learn new skills,  career advancement, and overall career development.  I am teamwork centered. Which includes working in close knit teams, friendly and supportive colleagues, and a cooperative and sharing atmosphere. Finally, my results said I was ethical. Having emphasis on fairness, making a difference in people’s lives,  and the chance to contribute positively to society.

Compentencies that were stated were high powered organizations, teamwork centered, and the value of being ethical. According to the podcast on contingencies it stated you should increase your strengths, minimize your weakness, allow opportunity, and reduce threats. Strategic management will affect the entire organization grow and with high salaries come high responsibilities. Operational functions are targets on specific operations of the company which would include fairness act, equal opportunity employment, and helping people grow within the organization. Possible threats could be the comparative advantage towards competitors. The essential elements that make a company different from its current competitors in the same market and the posssibility of new entrants. My compentencies relate directly to the essential contencies of a SWOT anaylysis. A person has to look at a high powered workplace as being fast paced, knowledgeable of different technologies, and always being accessible to the company. A person can’t be far-sighted, willing to work with others and promote within. Finally unknown factors such as enviornment disaster, new company technology upgrades, and helping people learn new techniques, all have to be accounted for with my compentencies.
